在北卡罗来纳州，该系统捕捉到了 859 次小叶桉树冠突事件和 93 次小叶桉松树冠突事件。事件范围从一眨眼到几秒钟不等，McFarland 说。在实地考察期间，研究人员还在另外四场雷雨和另外四个树种上观测到了冠状放电。
